A year ago, when clients asked me how their teams should stay ahead of AI, I told them to double down on the professional skills that set them apart. I still believe that is critical, but on its own, it is no longer enough.
The law firms that will thrive with AI are not simply the ones with the best tools. They are the ones who change how their people think first and build new skills second.
In this extract from my forthcoming book on AI adoption for law firms, I set out why mindset comes before skills, and what that means in practice: giving clear instructions, treating supervision as a superpower, protecting the judgement clients actually pay for, leading the change from the top, and getting your data ready before you buy.
It is a short read, with practical tips at the end. This is yet to be edited and copyedited, but I wanted to share something about a common issue for law firms and give you a peek at the book.
